Our Focus Areas

We are actively engaged in a range of interconnected initiatives. From establishing decentralized production systems in the Himalayan regions to fostering skill development and conducting in-depth research, our work aims to generate livelihoods, enhance artisan capabilities, and minimize environmental impact within the textile sector.

Livelihood Generation

We establish decentralized handmade production in regions like Kullu and Kangra, engaging local artisans in wool crafts using local resources. This empowers women and herders, fostering economic independence and reducing the carbon footprint through localized processing initiatives. To know more click here.

Capacity Building

We empower artisans through training in improved spinning techniques, leadership development for women, and skill development for decentralized wool processing. Our internship programs offer hands-on experience in sustainable textile production. To know more click here.

Research

Our research focuses on sustainable practices: natural dyeing with local plants, optimizing spinning and weaving techniques, and developing decentralized, water-efficient wool processing. We also explore local motifs and renewable energy to minimize environmental impact. To know more click here.
